Kateřina Šťastná

Kateřina Šťastná (*1993) belongs to the young generation of artists. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in Lukáš Rittstein’s studio. Her current work straddles the boundary between sculpture and textile techniques. In her work, she explores the physicality and intimacy of human relationships. The stylized figures she creates are based on her idea of what breath captured in the shape of the human body might look like. The figures become her personal language—a tool for visual recording and poetic expression of inner experiences, where form and emotion merge into an elegant, sensual aesthetic. These figures often appear in pairs, whose mutual tension and closeness reflect the author’s fascination with the relationality, delicacy, and fragility of human existence.

Kateřina Šťastná’s work thus represents a personal and sensitive record of the body in time – a quiet conversation between the physical and inner worlds, in which the material and the process carry the same weight as the image itself.
