Série: The Achilles in a Nutshell Series

This relief depicts the episode when Achilles was hidden in a girls’ temple by his mother before the Trojan War. He was eventually discovered through a clever ruse by King Odysseus, who scattered jewels and threw a sword among the veiled girls. The “girl” who reached for the sword was, of course, Achilles. The work features a cameo of a swan made from pink opal.
